This publication is de signed for organists who wish to integrate the latest research in historical performance practice into their playing. It seeks to assist the player in con verting the research on historical performance practice into playing which is valid in today’s context. Part A deals with the general principles of technique, various fundamental musical aspects, as well as with the learning process itself. In Part B compositions from a range of countries and eras are investigated with regard to sty listic performance, including such points as registration and ornamentation. Since some of the musical examples which are quoted in the textbook are not available in reliable ed itions or are difficult to obtain, they have been edited and compiled in a volume of music.
