Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Summarizes the history of the Bible and sheds light on biblical events through archaeological discoveries. A rigorous work of biblical history, interpretation, and criticism; Joseph P. Free's classic--first published in 1950--served an entire generation of pastors, Sunday school teachers, laypersons, and college students. When the book was withdrawn from circulation in 1976 after the fourteenth printing, many hoped for the day when it would be revised and updated. That task has been expertly undertaken by one of Dr. Free's former students and a biblical archaeologist in his own right, Dr. Howard Vos, who has: Brought the archaeological and historical material up to date, Modified earlier archaeological interpretations, where necessary, Updated the bibliography, And brought this essential work of biblical archeology back into circulation.
