Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""An Inquiry Into The Career And Character Of Mary Stuart, And A Justification Of Bothwell"" by J. Watts de Peyster is a historical book that explores the life and reputation of Mary Stuart, also known as Mary Queen of Scots, and justifies the actions of her third husband, James Hepburn, the Earl of Bothwell. The author examines Mary's political and personal life, including her marriages, her involvement in the murder of her second husband, Lord Darnley, and her imprisonment and eventual execution. De Peyster argues that Mary was a victim of her circumstances and was unfairly maligned by history. He also defends Bothwell, who was accused of kidnapping and raping Mary, and suggests that he was a victim of political intrigue. This book provides a unique perspective on the controversial figure of Mary Stuart and sheds light on the political and social climate of 16th century Scotland. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
