Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Bishop And The Boogerman is a novel written by Joel Chandler Harris and published in 1909. The story takes place in rural Georgia during the late 19th century and follows the lives of two very different characters: the Bishop and the Boogerman. The Bishop is a respected member of the community and a devout Christian who is known for his kindness and generosity. He lives a comfortable life and is highly regarded by his peers. The Boogerman, on the other hand, is a reclusive and mysterious figure who lives deep in the woods. He is feared by the locals, who believe he is a witch or a devil worshipper.Despite their differences, the Bishop and the Boogerman are brought together when the Bishop's daughter is kidnapped by a group of outlaws. The Boogerman, who has a reputation for being a skilled tracker and hunter, agrees to help the Bishop find his daughter and bring her back safely. As they journey through the wilderness, the Bishop and the Boogerman learn to put aside their differences and work together to overcome the obstacles they face. Along the way, they encounter a variety of colorful characters, including a group of moonshiners, a band of gypsies, and a wealthy landowner who is determined to stop them. The Bishop And The Boogerman is a heartwarming and engaging tale of friendship, courage, and redemption. It explores themes of prejudice, forgiveness, and the power of faith to overcome even the most daunting challenges. With its vivid descriptions of rural life in the American South and its memorable characters, it is a classic work of American literature that continues to captivate readers today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
