Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Jewish and the Christian Messiah: A Study in the Earliest History of Christianity is a book written by Vincent Henry Stanton and originally published in 1886. The book explores the concept of the Messiah in both Jewish and Christian traditions, and how these ideas developed and evolved over time. Stanton examines the historical and cultural context in which these ideas emerged, and how they were influenced by various theological and philosophical movements. He also looks at the ways in which the Jewish and Christian concepts of the Messiah diverged, and how this divergence contributed to the development of Christianity as a distinct religion.Throughout the book, Stanton draws on a range of sources, including biblical texts, historical documents, and theological treatises, to provide a comprehensive and nuanced analysis of the topic. He also engages with contemporary debates and controversies surrounding the concept of the Messiah, making this book a valuable resource for scholars and students of religion, history, and theology. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
