Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""The Sister Martyrs of Ku Cheng"" is a historical memoir and collection of letters written by Eleanor and Elizabeth Saunders, two Australian sisters who were missionaries in China during the late 19th century. The book, written by Digby M. Berry and published in 1896, details their experiences in Ku Cheng, a city in the Sichuan province of China, where they worked to spread Christianity and establish a mission. The sisters faced numerous challenges, including language barriers, cultural differences, and political unrest, but remained committed to their mission despite the dangers they faced. Tragically, both sisters were eventually martyred for their faith, and their letters and memoirs provide a poignant and inspiring account of their lives and work. The book offers a unique glimpse into the world of Christian missions in China during a tumultuous period in history, and is a valuable resource for scholars and students of religion, history, and international relations. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
