Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Pioneering Across AmericaThey came with courage, faith and optimism . . . and very little else. The stories of dauntless spirit told here include the author's ancestors who pioneered across the ocean in 1618 and 1620 to Jamestown and Plymouth. The odyssey continues with chronicles of 18th century Pennsylvania and crossing the Appalachians with Daniel Boone. Revolutionary War tales, Oregon Trail sagas, triumph and heartache are all wrapped up in this survey of pioneers from related families that traces the story of our nation and the building of a new society.Involved in government as well as education, they served as colonial governors and judges, state representatives, framers of constitutions, (US and states) as well as being among the founders of Princeton, Dartmouth and King's College (Columbia University.) Their vision and dedication to making the best society they could paved the way for those who followed. It is a personal story of family as well as a testament to all pioneers who have the courage to follow a new path.Color printing, 334 pages. Illustrated with maps and photographs. Reference materials: pedigree charts, bibliography, endnotes, and index.
