Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

These are poems of ferocious grief and beauty in which Scholt unsentimentally confronts a much larger loneliness in a time of universal doubt, war and disconnection, yet the natural world sustains-the "small bird" is still calling. These unforgettable elegies are dazzling, stirring and true.-Jan Worth, poet and author of Night Blind; teaches writing at the University of Michigan-Flint.In magnificently crafted poems Scholt rages against war in sharp searing images, but also depicts the tragedies of ordinary life, the "treachery of time", along with celebrating the quietly joyous moments. These are forthright, unpretentious but profound poems which readers will find moving and absorbing.-Helen Deese, retired English Professor at Tennessee Tech; editor of Daughter of Boston and The Journals of Caroline Healey DallScholt's poignant fine prosody memorializes the people and places she keeps close to her heart.-Rafael H. Mojica, Poetry Editor of The Uncommon Sense
