Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The ER miniaturizes life. The hurt, pain, and sometimes pleasure of our existence are distilled and concentrated in this one room. It's a place to sharpen defenses or to open up to the humanity bleeding there-and to the bleeding humanity in us.In this moving collection of poetry from one who has experienced the ER first hand, author D. Ken Patterson, M.D., examines our existence on this fragile planet and in these fragile bodies. Lives come into being in hospitals, and they often leave here, as well. What better place to ruminate on life and death?Ready or Not: Poems from the ER focuses on the reality of our world through three sections: the Body, the Soul, and the Spirit. With a stirring mixture of raw emotion, Patterson's poetry flows from everyday experience and his spiritual quest to examine the fragility of life and death.
