Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A classic Star Trek tie-in, The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition collects the infamous laws of profit that define the galaxy’s most ruthless—and successful—alien capitalists.Greedy, avaricious, cowardly, and completely unscrupulous, the Ferengi live by a simple creed: profit above all else. For centuries, the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition have guided generations of traders, merchants, and opportunists across the Star Trek universe, shaping interstellar commerce from Deep Space Nine to the far reaches of the Delta Quadrant. From Rule #1, “Once you have their money, never give it back,” to Rule #21, “Never place friendship before profit,” these 285 rules reveal the darkly comic philosophy behind Ferengi success. Equal parts satire and world-building, the Rules of Acquisition offer insight into Ferengi culture, ethics, and economics—where greed is a virtue and altruism is bad business.Packed with sharp humor and unmistakable Star Trek flavor, this collection is essential reading for fans of Deep Space Nine, Ferengi lore, and readers of science fiction satire.
