Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Since 1871, more than one thousand championships have been won in the major leagues, spanning sixty distinct leagues in eleven different sports. Major League Champions presents them all: containing the complete major league championship history of baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, indoor soccer, arena football, tennis, roller hockey, indoor lacrosse, and lacrosse.

From the heralded World Series, Super Bowl, and Stanley Cup, to the more obscure but no less prized Scholarship Series, Avco World Trophy, and Soccer Bowl, this book gives the reader a year by year account of championship results. The results are then followed by a list of major league champions first by year, then by league, and finally by franchise. Two sets of standings are also included in order from greatest to least. The first presents every major league champion by franchise and the second presents every city that has ever celebrated a major league championship. Second-place teams are not forgotten. Brucato recognizes the accomplishments of those teams that experienced near-misses with a section that lists every second-place team in major league history. A final section features a bibliography of sources.

Spanning 130 years of major league history, this book is the ultimate source for discovering which teams throughout history have won the right to be considered the best.
