The Day of Pentecost was very meaningful for mankind. Only a handful of historic events, such as the days of creation or Christ's birth, death, and resurrection, might be considered more significant. They, along with the prophets, are part of the foundation of the church, with Christ as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2: 20). Thus, respecting their role in the first century church can help men to honor God as he intends to be honored.
