Robert Harris, 1957 in Nottingham geboren, studierte Englische Literatur in Cambridge und war zunächst Fernsehkorrespondent bei der BBC sowie Zeitungskolumnist für die Londener Sunday Times und The Daily Telegraph. Seine Bücher wurden in über 30 Sprachen übersetzt und mehr als zehn Millionen Mal verkauft. Mit seinen Romanen "Vaterland", "Enigma", "Aurora", "Pompeji", "Ghost", "Angst", "Konklave", "München" und "Der zweite Schlaf" sowie der Cicero-Trilogie schuf der Schriftsteller eine Vielzahl an internationalen Bestsellern. Für die Verfilmung von "Ghost" mit dem Filmtitel "The Ghost Writer" wurde Harris gemeinsam mit Roman Polański mit dem Europäischen Filmpreis für das beste Drehbuch ausgezeichnet. Auch "Intrige" wurde verfilmt und mit dem Silbernen Löwen auf den Filmfestspielen in Venedig 2019 gekürt. Harris lebt mit seiner Frau und seinen vier Kindern in Berkshire, England.
