Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Capitol Disaster tells the harrowing true story of the collapse of the Virginia State Capitol building in 1870, which killed 62 people and injured more than 200 others. The incident was a tragic symbol of the challenges facing the Reconstruction-era South, as the region struggled to rebuild after the devastation of the Civil War. The book is both a gripping narrative of a little-known historical event and an insightful analysis of the broader social and political context in which it occurred.
