Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Two influential works from Lyof N. Tolstoi are presented in one volume: "The Kingdom of God is Within You" and "What is Art." A cornerstone of Christian anarchism and nonviolence, "The Kingdom of God is Within You" explores ethical living and social reform through Tolstoi's interpretation of Christian principles. Tolstoi challenges conventional understandings of state power and advocates for a life rooted in love and non-resistance.

Coupled with this seminal text is "What is Art?", Tolstoi's profound exploration of aesthetics and the purpose of art. He critiques contemporary art theories and proposes a definition of art based on its ability to communicate feeling and unite humanity through shared emotional experience. This edition offers readers a chance to engage with Tolstoi's powerful ideas on art and morals, philosophy and social action, in two of his most significant works. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations.
