Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"Mair Canny Tales Fae Aberdeen" is a charming and spirited collection of regional humor and anecdotes that captures the unique wit of North East Scotland. Written by the celebrated observer of Scottish character, Allan Junior, this work serves as a delightful exploration of Aberdonian life and logic. The book presents a series of short stories and observations centered on the reputation of the people of Aberdeen for being 'canny'-shrewd, thrifty, and possessing a dry, understated sense of humor. Through the use of local dialect and authentic cultural references, the work provides a vivid window into the social fabric of early 20th-century Scotland. Readers will encounter a variety of characters and situations that highlight the cleverness and pragmatism traditionally associated with the Granite City.As a piece of Scottish literary heritage, "Mair Canny Tales Fae Aberdeen" remains a significant example of regional storytelling. It preserves the linguistic nuances and comedic timing of a bygone era, making it an essential read for those interested in Scottish folklore, the history of humor, and the enduring charm of the Doric spirit. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
