Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"The Children of the Sun" is a landmark study in the field of anthropology and human history, exploring the theory of cultural diffusion and the spread of early civilization across the globe. Written by William James Perry, a prominent figure in the hyperdiffusionist school of thought, the work meticulously examines what the author identifies as the "heliolithic" culture-a complex of practices including sun-worship, megalithic construction, and advanced irrigation techniques. Perry argues that these sophisticated cultural elements did not arise independently in various parts of the world, but were instead disseminated from a single source by a migratory ruling class known as the "Children of the Sun."Through an extensive survey of archaeological and ethnographic evidence, the book investigates the origins of social hierarchy, the institution of kingship, and the development of organized warfare. By tracing the movement of these ancient cultural traits through Oceania, the Americas, and Southeast Asia, Perry attempts to provide a unified explanation for the evolution of human society. "The Children of the Sun" remains a significant historical text for those interested in the history of archaeological theory, the origins of political power, and the interconnectedness of ancient human civilizations. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
