Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"Facsimile of the Washington Manuscript of the Minor Prophets in the Freer Collection and the Berlin Fragment of Genesis" provides an essential photographic record of some of the most significant early Christian biblical codices known to scholarship. This volume presents high-quality reproductions of the Greek text of the Minor Prophets, part of the famed Freer Collection, alongside the Berlin Fragment of Genesis. These manuscripts are critical primary sources for the study of the Septuagint and the transmission of the Old Testament in Late Antiquity. The Washington Manuscript, also known as Codex Washingtonensis, represents a vital link in biblical scholarship, offering insight into the textual traditions of the fourth and fifth centuries. By providing a clear facsimile of these ancient pages, this work allows scholars and students of paleography to examine the handwriting, orthography, and physical layout of the texts as they appeared in their original form. The inclusion of the Berlin Fragment of Genesis further enriches this collection, making it a cornerstone for those researching early biblical manuscripts, the history of the Greek Bible, and the evolution of early Christian book production.
