Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"The Meaning of Relativity" presents the foundational concepts of modern physics as articulated by Albert Einstein himself. Based on a series of four lectures delivered at Princeton University in May 1921, this seminal work offers a systematic overview of both the special and general theories of relativity. Einstein guides the reader through the mathematical and conceptual breakthroughs that revolutionized our understanding of space, time, and gravitation. The text explores the principles of the Lorentz transformation, the equivalence of mass and energy, and the curvature of the space-time continuum. Written with the precision of the scientist who formulated these groundbreaking ideas, the work remains an essential primary source for understanding the evolution of 20th-century scientific thought. By addressing the physical properties of the universe and the mathematical frameworks required to describe them, "The Meaning of Relativity" stands as a cornerstone of theoretical physics, providing unparalleled insight into the principles that govern the cosmos. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
