Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"Minutes of the Albany Committee of Correspondence, 1775-1778" offers a comprehensive primary source record documenting the administrative and political operations of one of the most vital local governing bodies during the American Revolution. As a central hub for revolutionary activity in New York, the Albany Committee was responsible for maintaining order, organizing local militias, and managing the complex logistics of the war effort in the strategically critical Hudson Valley region. This collection details the day-to-day decisions and challenges faced by local leaders as they navigated the transition from colonial rule to independence. From the surveillance of loyalist activities and the procurement of essential military supplies to the coordination with the Continental Army, these minutes provide an unvarnished look at the complexities of grassroots revolutionary governance. The work serves as an essential resource for historians and researchers interested in the socio-political climate and the internal struggles of New York during the founding of the United States.By capturing the specific concerns and official actions of a community at war, "Minutes of the Albany Committee of Correspondence, 1775-1778" illustrates the collective resilience and organizational spirit that shaped the American struggle for liberty. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
