Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"Our Jewish Neighbors" is an insightful historical document produced by the Episcopal Church's Department of Missions, offering a unique perspective on interfaith relations and community engagement in the early 20th century. Written during a period of significant demographic shifts in the United States, the work serves as an educational guide intended to broaden the understanding of the Jewish faith, culture, and community life among Christian congregants. The book delves into the shared history and theological connections between Judaism and Christianity, while addressing the contemporary social and religious landscape of the late 1920s. By examining the customs, traditions, and contributions of Jewish citizens, "Our Jewish Neighbors" seeks to bridge gaps of ignorance and foster a spirit of neighborly cooperation and mutual respect. This work is a valuable resource for those interested in the history of religious missions, the evolution of ecumenical dialogue, and the social history of urban America during the interwar years. It provides a fascinating look at how religious institutions navigated cultural diversity and sought to define their relationship with other faith traditions in a rapidly changing world. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
