Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"Palestine: The Fight for Jewish Freedom and Honour" is a passionate and influential treatise by Josiah Clement Wedgwood, a prominent British statesman and dedicated advocate for the Zionist movement. Written during a critical period of the British Mandate, this work explores the moral and political necessity of establishing a national home for the Jewish people. Wedgwood articulates a vision for a Jewish state that is not only a refuge from persecution but also a beacon of democratic values and human rights in the Middle East. The author delves into the historical context of the region, the aspirations of the Jewish pioneers, and the complexities of British colonial policy. He argues forcefully that supporting Jewish self-determination is a matter of both international justice and national honor for Great Britain. By examining the social and economic developments of the time, the book provides a compelling argument for the transformative potential of the Zionist project. This volume remains a significant historical document for readers interested in the roots of the modern Middle East conflict, the history of Zionism, and the political thought of the early 20th century. It offers a unique perspective from a non-Jewish ally who saw the fight for Jewish freedom as a fundamental struggle for liberty and progress. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
