Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"Ozanam in His Correspondence" offers an intimate and profound look into the life of Frédéric Ozanam, the visionary founder of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. Through a meticulous examination of his personal letters, Monsignor Baunard crafts a narrative that reveals the inner spiritual journey, intellectual rigor, and unwavering devotion of one of the 19th century's most influential lay Catholics. This work serves as both a biography and a spiritual resource, capturing Ozanam's efforts to reconcile faith with the social challenges of his era.

The book explores his relationships, his academic career at the Sorbonne, and his pivotal role in establishing a global network of charity. By letting Ozanam speak through his own written words, Baunard provides readers with a direct connection to his thoughts on social justice, education, and the Catholic faith. It is an essential volume for those interested in the history of the Catholic lay movement and the development of modern social service. "Ozanam in His Correspondence" remains a powerful testament to a life dedicated to the service of the poor and the pursuit of truth, making it a valuable resource for historians, scholars, and spiritual seekers alike. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
