Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"The Very Reverend Mother Mary of the Passion and Her Institute" provides a comprehensive look into the life and spiritual legacy of Hélène de Chappotin, the foundress of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. This biographical account traces her journey from her early life in France to the establishment of one of the most significant missionary orders in the Catholic Church. Through diligent research, Thomas F. Cullen illuminates the profound faith and administrative brilliance of Mother Mary of the Passion as she navigated the complexities of late 19th-century religious life. The book details the expansion of the Institute from its humble beginnings to its widespread mission work across several continents. It emphasizes the order's unique charism, blending contemplative prayer with active service to the marginalized. Readers will find a detailed history of the challenges faced by the foundress, her interactions with ecclesiastical authorities, and her unwavering commitment to the universal mission of the Church. This work serves as an essential resource for those interested in the history of Catholic missions, the evolution of women's religious orders, and the life of a woman who significantly shaped modern missionary spirituality. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
