William Derham's "Physico-theology" is a profound 18th-century work, originally presented as a series of influential sermons, that meticulously argues for the existence and attributes of God through His works of creation. This seminal text, subtitled "Or, a demonstration of the being and attributes of God, from His works of creation," stands as a cornerstone of natural theology and physico-theology.

Derham guides readers through an exhaustive exploration of the natural world, from the grand cosmic order to the intricate details of life on Earth, revealing what he saw as irrefutable evidence of divine design. His keen observations in pre-Linnean natural history are masterfully integrated with theological reasoning, making "Physico-theology" an unparalleled example of Enlightenment thought on religion and science.

This classic volume delves deep into God's attributes-wisdom, power, and benevolence-as illuminated by the observable universe. It is an essential read for those fascinated by early natural theology, 18th-century English sermons, and the historical interplay between scientific inquiry and religious belief. Derham's timeless exploration offers enduring insights into humanity's quest to understand the Creator through the wonders of creation itself.
