Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A Place Where Celebration Meets HistoryNestled in the countryside of Northern Ireland, Brookhall Historical Farm is a place where history, family, community and celebration have become woven together over generations. This beautifully illustrated book explores the story of Brookhall and the people connected to it, tracing its journey from its historic beginnings and working-farm heritage to its transformation into a much-loved venue for weddings, celebrations and memorable occasions.Through historical research, photographs, personal recollections and stories gathered along the way, Pauline Johnston brings Brookhall's past to life while celebrating the people who helped shape its identity. But history isn't always found in archives and dates. Sometimes it is found in the unexpected stories - the characters who arrived at Brookhall, the challenges that had to be overcome, the celebrations that nearly went wrong, and the moments that became unforgettable. From weddings where the caterers failed to arrive, rescued by the generosity of local businesses and the power of social media, to the extraordinary tale of a guest who arrived claiming to have one cat - only for Brookhall to discover there were rather more than one - these stories reveal the humour, warmth and sheer unpredictability that come with running a place where people gather. At its heart, this is a story about place and people: about preserving memories, celebrating the past and creating new ones.Brookhall Historical Farm: A Place Where Celebration Meets History offers readers a glimpse into the heritage of a special Northern Irish location and the many stories that continue to make it memorable.
