Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A 1940s Noir style Private Detective story. A man has been murdered and his wife, Jillian Blaine, hires Nick Carver P.I. to find out who killed him. In a city where the rain never seems to stop, and the neon signs glow all night reflected in the puddles, Nick swims through the rain and meets a cast of characters along the way. Rosie owns the diner Nick likes to eat at and whose home is used as a safe house; Pockets, a sometimes bookie, helps Nick along the way; Vito, a brother with a taste for vengeance in honour of his deceased sister; Russo, the Kingpin in the city; Maria who wants to help Nick take him down; the silver haired man, and the man in the grey suit, and a few others here and there. After being beaten up a few times and shot once Nick manages to bring peace back to the city. Through kidnapping, gunfights and fistfights the action keeps moving. Nick has to fend off the brother of a girl who was once engaged to Nick. and the brother, Vito, wants revenge. The cops keep paying Nick visits but he doesn't trust any of them. There are too many in Russo's pocket. Two of Nick's old friends are killed and the older waitress from the diner who is helping Nick out, gets roughed up badly by a bunch of henchmen and goons. Nick gets his revenge for that one. Everyone is after the vials Nick has and he needs to keep those vials safe as they are the insurance that will bring everything crashing down around Russo. Nick gets his man but not the girl, yet. Perhaps in the next adventure.
