Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A powerful, uncompromising biography that tears away the modernistic, sentimental myths surrounding the Seraphic Father to restore the true, historical face of Saint Francis of Assisi. Far from the liberal, naturalistic portraits that reduce him to a dogma-free ecologist or a romantic poet, this traditional study-relying strictly upon the earliest and most faithful Catholic sources-reveals Saint Francis in his authentic, terrifying grandeur: as the consummate penitent, the unyielding knight of the King of Kings, and the blazing seraph transfigured by the severe reality of the Holy Cross. From his brutal ascetic victory over the flesh in embracing the leper, to his thunderous proclamation of the exclusive sovereignty of Jesus Christ before the Sultan, and finally to the literal, bloody imprinting of the Sacred Stigmata upon Mount Alverna, this book guides the reader along the narrow path of true, uncompromised grace. It stands as a spiritual shield for the faithful, restoring the glorious truth of a saint who wept over the world's ingratitude toward Christ's Passion and lived in absolute, fierce obedience to Holy Mother Church.
