East End Pictures is a book written by Thomas Charles Garland and originally published in 1885. The book is a memoir of Garland's twenty-five years of Christian work in the East End of London, particularly among sailors and other seafaring men. The book is divided into chapters, each of which focuses on a particular aspect of Garland's work, such as his efforts to establish a mission for seafarers, his work with young men, and his interactions with the local community. Throughout the book, Garland provides vivid descriptions of the people he encounters and the challenges he faces, as well as his own reflections on his work and the role of Christianity in the lives of those he serves. The book offers a unique glimpse into the social and religious landscape of the East End of London in the late 19th century, and is an important historical document for those interested in the history of Christianity and social reform in Britain. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
