Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Little New World Idyls and Other Poems is a collection of poetry written by John James Piatt and published in 1893. The book contains a series of idyllic poems that capture the beauty and simplicity of rural life in the American Midwest during the late 19th century. The poems are written in a simple, yet elegant style, and are filled with vivid descriptions of nature, rural landscapes, and the people who inhabit them. The collection is divided into two parts, with the first part consisting of the Little New World Idyls series, which depicts life in a small Midwestern village. The poems in this section capture the joys and sorrows of everyday life, including the struggles of farmers, the beauty of the changing seasons, and the simple pleasures of family and community. The second part of the book contains a variety of other poems, including sonnets, ballads, and lyrics. These poems cover a range of themes, including love, nature, and spirituality. Many of the poems in this section are deeply personal and introspective, reflecting Piatt's own experiences and beliefs. Overall, Little New World Idyls and Other Poems is a charming and nostalgic collection of poetry that offers a window into a bygone era. Piatt's simple yet evocative language captures the beauty and wonder of rural life, and his poems continue to resonate with readers today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
