Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""L'Ecole Du Scandale, Ou Les Moeurs Du Jour: Comedie"" is a play written by Richard Brinsley Sheridan in 1789. The play is set in London and revolves around the scandalous behavior of the upper class. The main character, Sir Peter Teazle, is a wealthy man who is married to a much younger woman, Lady Teazle. However, their marriage is strained due to Lady Teazle's flirtatious behavior and her desire to be a part of high society. Meanwhile, Sir Peter's nephew, Charles Surface, is a charming but irresponsible young man who is in debt and relies on his uncle's financial assistance. The play explores themes of love, marriage, social status, and deception. With its witty dialogue and satirical tone, ""L'Ecole Du Scandale"" became a popular play during the late 18th century and is still performed today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
