Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Jeptha and Baptist is a book written by George Buchanan in 1870. It tells the story of two biblical characters, Jeptha and Baptist, and their struggles and triumphs. Jeptha is a warrior who makes a vow to God that he will sacrifice the first thing that comes out of his house if he is victorious in battle. Unfortunately, it turns out to be his daughter, and Jeptha is faced with the difficult decision of whether to fulfill his vow or spare his daughter's life. Baptist, on the other hand, is a prophet who preaches to the people about the coming of the Messiah. He faces persecution and imprisonment for his beliefs but ultimately triumphs in spreading his message. The book explores themes of faith, sacrifice, and redemption and provides a unique perspective on these biblical characters. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
