Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""The Last Martyrs of Eromanga"" is a memoir written by James D. Gordon in 1863. The book tells the story of George N. Gordon and his wife Ellen Catherine Powell, who were missionaries in the island of Eromanga in the South Pacific. The couple was killed by the natives of the island in 1861, becoming the last Christian martyrs in Eromanga. The book recounts the couple's journey to Eromanga, their struggles to evangelize the island's population, and the events that led to their tragic death. It also describes the aftermath of their murder, including the efforts made by other missionaries to continue their work and the impact of their sacrifice on the Christian community. Overall, ""The Last Martyrs of Eromanga"" is a moving account of the dedication and sacrifice of two missionaries who gave their lives to spread the Christian faith in a remote and hostile corner of the world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
