Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Northern Barrage: Taking Up The Mines is a historical book written by Josephus Daniels and published in 1920. The book is a first-hand account of the United States Navy's efforts to clear the North Sea of German mines during World War I. The Northern Barrage was a minefield laid by the Germans in the North Sea, which posed a great threat to Allied shipping. The book describes the dangerous and complex process of clearing the mines, which involved using minesweepers and other specialized equipment. Daniels, who was the Secretary of the Navy at the time, provides a detailed account of the planning, execution, and aftermath of the operation. The book also includes photographs and maps to illustrate the challenges faced by the Navy during this critical mission. The Northern Barrage: Taking Up The Mines is a fascinating and informative read for anyone interested in naval history, World War I, or military strategy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
