Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Office And Limits Of Literary Criticism is a book written by Henry De Burgh Hollings and originally published in 1869. The book explores the role and purpose of literary criticism, examining its various forms and methods, and discussing the limitations of the practice. Hollings argues that literary criticism should aim to provide insight into the artistic qualities of a work of literature, rather than simply offering subjective opinions or moral judgments. He also discusses the importance of context in understanding and evaluating literature, and the need for critics to be well-versed in the historical and cultural background of the works they are analyzing. The book is a valuable resource for students and scholars of literature, as well as anyone interested in the art of criticism. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
