Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Remorse: A Tragedy, In Five Acts is a play written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge in 1813. The play tells the story of Ordonio, a Spanish nobleman who is haunted by guilt and remorse after ordering the murder of his own brother. Ordonio's guilt is compounded by his love for his brother's wife, Isidora, who is unaware of Ordonio's role in her husband's death. As the play progresses, Ordonio's guilt becomes increasingly unbearable, and he is eventually driven to confess his crime to Isidora. The play explores themes of guilt, remorse, and redemption, and features a cast of complex and flawed characters. Coleridge's writing is known for its poetic language and vivid imagery, and Remorse is no exception. The play is considered a masterpiece of Romantic literature and continues to be studied and performed today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
