Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Grey Stocking and Other Plays is a collection of plays written by Maurice Baring and published in 1912. The book contains four plays, each with its own unique story and characters. The first play, The Grey Stocking, is a comedy about a young woman who pretends to be a man in order to attend a men-only dinner party. The second play, The Romantic Young Lady, is a satire of romantic novels and their heroines. The third play, The New Word, is a drama about a soldier returning from war and struggling to adjust to civilian life. The final play, The Pantomime Cat, is a whimsical story about a cat who becomes the star of a pantomime. Baring's writing is known for its wit, humor, and social commentary, and this collection of plays is no exception. The Grey Stocking and Other Plays is a delightful read for anyone interested in early 20th century literature and theater. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
