The Oratio For Plancius: With Short English Notes is a book by the famous Roman philosopher and statesman, Marcus Tullius Cicero. The book was first published in 1872 and provides a complete description of Cicero's Oratio For Plancius. The oration was delivered in 54 BCE and is considered one of Cicero's most important speeches. In this book, readers will find a detailed analysis of the oration, along with short English notes that help to clarify some of the more complex ideas and concepts presented in the text. The book is written in a clear and concise style, making it accessible to both scholars and lay readers alike. Cicero's Oratio For Plancius was delivered in defense of his friend and client, Aulus Plancius, who had been accused of bribery during his campaign for the office of aedile. Cicero's speech is a masterful example of his rhetorical skill, as he argues convincingly that Plancius is innocent of the charges against him. Overall, The Oratio For Plancius: With Short English Notes is an essential read for anyone interested in the works of Cicero, Roman history, or the art of rhetoric. The book provides a fascinating glimpse into the world of ancient Rome and the legal and political systems that governed it.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
