Butler's Three Sermons Upon Human Nature and Dissertation on Virtue is a book written by Joseph Butler in 1848. The book is a collection of three sermons that Butler delivered on human nature and a dissertation on virtue. The sermons explore the nature of human beings and their relationship with God. Butler argues that humans are naturally inclined towards virtue and that this inclination is evidence of God's existence. He also discusses the importance of reason in moral decision-making and the role of conscience in guiding human behavior. The dissertation on virtue explores the concept of virtue and its relationship to happiness. Butler argues that true happiness can only be achieved through virtuous behavior and that virtue is essential for a fulfilling life.
