Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Sauny the Scot or The Taming of the Shrew: A Comedy is a play written by John Lacy and first performed in 1708. The play tells the story of Sauny, a Scottish soldier who is tasked with taming the shrewish daughter of a wealthy merchant. Sauny uses a combination of wit, charm, and humor to win her over and ultimately marry her. Along the way, there are plenty of comedic mishaps and misunderstandings, as well as a subplot involving Sauny's fellow soldiers and their own romantic pursuits. Sauny the Scot is a classic example of Restoration-era comedy, with its witty dialogue, bawdy humor, and lively characters. It remains a popular play in the canon of English literature and is often studied and performed today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
