Scott's Marmion: A Tale Of Flodden Field, In Six Cantos is a historical narrative poem written by Scottish author Walter Scott and published in 1808. The poem tells the story of the Battle of Flodden Field, which took place in 1513 between the armies of England and Scotland. The main character of the poem is Lord Marmion, a fictional knight who serves King Henry VIII of England. The poem explores themes of love, war, honor, and betrayal, and features vivid descriptions of medieval life and battle scenes. The book is divided into six cantos, each containing several stanzas of rhyming verse.
