Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Age of Frivolity is a long poem written by Timothy Touchem in 1806. The poem addresses the fashionable, busy, and religious world of the time, criticizing their preoccupation with frivolous pursuits and neglect of more important matters. Touchem uses satire and wit to highlight the absurdity of the society's obsession with fashion, gossip, and entertainment, while ignoring the pressing issues of poverty, injustice, and moral decay. The poem also touches on the hypocrisy of the religious establishment, who claim to uphold high moral standards but often fall short in their own behavior. The Age of Frivolity is a scathing critique of the society of the time, and a call to action for a more serious and responsible approach to life. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
