Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Translations Chiefly From The Italian Of Petrarch And Metastasis is a book published in 1795 that contains a collection of English translations of poems by two Italian poets, Petrarch and Metastasio. Petrarch was a famous poet of the Renaissance era, known for his sonnets and love poems, while Metastasio was a prominent writer of operatic librettos. The book features translations of some of their most well-known works, including Petrarch's Sonnets to Laura and Metastasio's Artaserse. The translations are done by an unknown author and are written in a style that reflects the literary tastes of the late 18th century. The book is considered a valuable resource for scholars of Italian literature, as well as for those interested in the history of English translations of foreign works. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
