Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A Selection of Psalms for Social Worship is a book compiled by ministers Cappe and Newcome in 1786. It contains a collection of psalms that were intended to be used in public worship services. The book was created to provide a more modern and accessible version of the Psalms that could be used in churches. The psalms were chosen based on their suitability for congregational singing and their relevance to contemporary religious life. The book includes a preface that explains the reasoning behind the selection of psalms and provides guidance on their use in worship. It also includes an index of psalms that are appropriate for different occasions, such as weddings, funerals, and national holidays. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of religious music and the development of worship practices in the late 18th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
