Alberta: A New Tragedy, In Five Acts is a play written by John Carter in 1787. The story takes place in Alberta, a fictional kingdom ruled by King Alphonso and his queen, Elvira. The play follows the tragic story of the young and beautiful Alberta, the daughter of a nobleman, who falls in love with the king's son, Prince Ferdinand.
