Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Of Resisting The Lawful Magistrate Under Color Of Religion is a book written by Henry Hammond in 1647. The book discusses the issue of religious resistance to the lawful magistrate, which was a common problem during the time of the English Civil War. Hammond argues that the Bible does not support the idea of resisting the lawful magistrate under the guise of religion, and that such actions are not only illegal, but also contrary to the principles of Christianity. The book provides a detailed analysis of the relevant biblical passages, as well as historical examples of religious resistance to the authorities. Hammond's argument is based on the principle of obedience to the law and the importance of maintaining social order. The book is considered a valuable resource for understanding the religious and political issues of the English Civil War era. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
