Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Rebellion of the Beasts: Or The Ass is Dead! Long Live the Ass!!! is a satirical poem written by Leigh Hunt in 1825. The poem is a commentary on the political and social climate of the time, with Hunt using animals to represent different factions and groups within society. The poem tells the story of a rebellion among the animals, with the donkey (or ass) being the leader of the rebellion. However, the rebellion ultimately fails, and the donkey is killed. Despite this, the poem ends on a note of hope, with the animals declaring that the spirit of the donkey will live on and continue to inspire future rebellions. The Rebellion of the Beasts is a witty and incisive critique of the power structures of the time, and remains a relevant commentary on the nature of revolution and resistance. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
