Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Temple of Pleasure: Or Seeing Life (1877) is a novel written by James W. Bonham. The story takes place in the late 1800s and follows the life of a young man named Harry Temple. Harry is a wealthy and privileged young man who is bored with his life and seeks out new experiences. He becomes involved with a group of bohemian artists and intellectuals who introduce him to a world of pleasure and excess. Harry becomes enamored with a beautiful young woman named Rose, who is also a member of the group. However, their relationship is complicated by Rose's past and Harry's own insecurities. As Harry becomes more involved with the group, he begins to question his own values and beliefs, ultimately leading to a crisis of conscience. The Temple of Pleasure explores themes of love, desire, morality, and the search for meaning in life. It is a vivid portrayal of the decadent and hedonistic lifestyle of the late 19th century, and a cautionary tale about the dangers of excess and self-indulgence.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
