Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

My Village, Versus Our Village is a book written by Thomas Crofton Croker in 1833. The book is a collection of stories and folklore from the author's native village in Ireland, which he compares and contrasts with other villages across the country. The book is divided into two parts: the first part focuses on Croker's own village and the traditions, customs, and beliefs of its inhabitants. He describes the landscape, people, and daily life in vivid detail, painting a picture of a close-knit community with a rich history and folklore. The second part of the book explores other villages in Ireland, highlighting the differences and similarities between them and Croker's own. He discusses the unique traditions and superstitions of each village, as well as the natural and cultural features that make them distinct. Throughout the book, Croker shares his love for the Irish countryside and its people, as well as his fascination with the stories and legends that have been passed down through generations. My Village, Versus Our Village is a valuable resource for anyone interested in Irish folklore, history, or culture. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
