Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The History and Descent of the House of Rowallane is a book written by William Mure and first published in 1825. The book is a comprehensive account of the history and genealogy of the Rowallane family, a prominent Scottish family with roots dating back to the 15th century. Mure traces the family's lineage from its earliest known ancestor, Sir John de Bailleul, who arrived in Scotland in the 12th century, through to the present day. He details the family's rise to prominence, including their involvement in the Scottish Wars of Independence and their ownership of the Rowallane estate in County Antrim, Ireland. The book also includes biographical sketches of notable members of the family, including Sir John de Bailleul, Sir William Bailleul, and Sir Hugh Bailleul, as well as a detailed history of the Rowallane estate and its various owners over the centuries. In addition to its historical and genealogical content, The History and Descent of the House of Rowallane provides a fascinating insight into the social and political history of Scotland and Ireland during the medieval and early modern periods. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in Scottish and Irish history, genealogy, or the history of noble families. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
